Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on

Benefits

Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on helps address the key areas of efficiency, security, and complaince for complex environments with multiple, login-based applications and systems. It allows you to:

Base Single Sign-on on Active Directory

Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on bases single sign-on and access control for the entire enterprise on the existing identities, groups, , and policies built into the existing Active Directory deployment without requiring additional authentication methods or a “metadirectory” implementation. In essence, all a user needs to know is his or her Active Directory login to achieve seamless access to all required applications—Windows and non-Windows alike.

Enforce Security and Access Policy across the Enterprise

Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on leverages established access policies, and rules of Active Directory and extends them to apply similar controls to client-based single sign-on for the entire range of applications and systems a user may need access to. It also provides a means for granular delegation of account access when they must be performed by someone other than the user with normal responsibility.

Implement a Single Point of Strong Authentication for all Resources

Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on provides a single point of user login/authentication to virtually any system and application they may need access to. This includes standard username/password logins as well as the entire range of strong authentication options such as smart cards, biometrics, or token-based two-factor authentication.

Improve IT and End User Efficiency

Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on relieves IT staff of the burden of managing user access and resetting password across a wide range of applications. It allows users to logon to all required resources with a single username and password (or strong authentication method) and allows users to delegate specific tasks to others, with a high level of control, as absence or other situations demand.

Achieve Compliance

Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on satisfies the common compliance requirements for access control, including access control, strong authentication and secure delegation of access rights by implementing a consistent, strong, Active Directory-based infrastructure for access policy enforcement. It also provides the comprehensive audit and reporting tools necessary to “prove” compliance across the entire single sign-on environment.
