Notes
- InTrust for Performance setup requires Windows Installer 2.0 to be
installed. Earlier versions of Windows Installer are automatically upgraded
during installation, so you may have to reboot your computer after the
installation is finished.
- It is strongly recommended that you stop all running copies of EventAdmin
Performance Counter Proxy and stop the EventAdmin Performance Counter Proxy
Service before upgrading to InTrust for Performance and wait for 10 minutes
before starting the InTrust for Performance setup.
- When configuring the user account selected to run the InTrust for
Performance Service from InTrust for Performance Manager or Setup, it must be
granted the "Access computer from network" privilege.
- During setup the "Log on as a service" right is automatically granted to
the account selected to run the InTrust for Performance Service.
- You cannot cancel the InTrust for Performance setup immediately after the
"Ready to Install the Application" step. Wait until it starts copying new
files.
- If you are upgrading from EventAdmin Performance Counter Proxy 1.0 and
install only InTrust for Performance Manager, all your EventAdmin Performance
Counter Proxy Service settings and collections will be lost. To avoid this,
upgrade the EventAdmin Performance Counter Proxy Service as well.
- If you have problems connecting to the InTrust for Performance Service,
check your DCOM application permissions with the DCOMCNFG.EXE utility. For
details see InTrust for Performance technical documentation. Note that the
DCOM application permissions should always be configured as in case of a
remote InTrust for Performance installation.
- If you have used InTrust for Performance Manager to configure a remote
InTrust for Performance Service, and have saved the MMC settings, the next
time you run InTrust for Performance Manager it tries to re-establish a
connection to the remote Service. This may take some time, especially if the
connection attempts fail (i.e. the remote computer is off).
- To update the InTrust for Performance license on a computer where only
InTrust for Performance Service is installed, run the InTrust for Performance
setup, specify the new license and cancel setup.
Known Issues
| B000001 |
If the computer on which you are installing InTrust for Performance
has Windows Installer of version less than 2.0, you will not be able to
run InTrust for Performance from the Start | Programs menu until you
reboot. To avoid this, consider installing Windows Installer 2.0 or higher
prior to installing InTrust for Performance. |
| B112381 |
You may get the following error message while upgrading or
uninstalling InTrust for Performance:
"The file C:\Program Files\Quest Software\InTrust for
Performance\eapcpcdb.mdb is used by another process. You must terminate
this process to continue installation." To continue with upgrade or
uninstallation, either wait for up to 5 minutes and click Retry or click
Cancel, log off, log on and run the (un)installation again.
