Welcome

This Report Pack is intended to help financial organizations demonstrate to auditors compliance with the COSO framework (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission) which is guiding companies through implementation of internal controls over financial reporting. The reports are designed for Quest Knowledge Portal which provides a consistent point of reporting across the Quest products.

The following is a list of issues known to exist at the time of Quest COSO Compliance Report Pack 1.0 release.

General If basic authentication is used in the SSRS connection settings (Reports and Report Server virtual directories connection properties), then Report Packs cannot be installed to that SSRS ("Access denied" error message appears). CR0142484
If you take a Repair action for a Report Pack in Add/Remove Programs, removed data sources are restored and assigned to the Report Pack reports (but not to models). To assign these data sources to the corresponding models, use the Change Data Source Wizard. CR0191399

The Group Details subreport appears to be empty after you open it from a parent report - this happens because no data on the corresponding group was found in the database:

Before installing Quest COSO Compliance Report Pack 1.0 for Quest Knowledge Portal, ensure your system meets the following minimum hardware and software requirements:

Global Operations

This section contains information about installing and operating this product in non-English configurations, such as those needed by customers outside of North America. This section does not replace the materials about supported platforms and configurations found elsewhere in the product documentation.

This release is Unicode-enabled and supports any character set. In this release, all product components should be configured to use the same or compatible character encodings and should be installed to use the same locale and regional options. This release is targeted to support operations in the following regions: North America, Western Europe and Latin America, Japan.

Installation Instructions

To install the Report Pack, the following rights can be recommended for user account under which you will run the setup:

  1. Membership in the local Administrators group on the computer where the reports are to be installed.
  2. Content Manager role for the Home folder in SQL Server Reporting Services.
  3. System Administrator site-level role in SQL Server Reporting Services (for creating item-level roles and shared schedule).
If you need more granular rights assignment, refer to the Minimal Rights and Permissions section of Quest Knowledge Portal Installation Guide document.

 

To install the Report Pack, take the following steps:

  1. Run the Report Pack setup.
  2. Specify your name and organization.
  3. Specify the URL of report server, for example, http://my_sql_srv/report_server.
  4. To get data for reports provided in the Report Pack, you need to associate the Data Sources with the corresponding product databases. Click Configure to provide the settings required for association.
  5. In the Data Source Configuration dialog, select the data source to configure, and click Modify. The Data Source Configuration Wizard is started to help you with initial configuration of the data source.
  6. On the Specify SQL Server step, enter the name of SQL Server where the product database resides, or click Browse to select server from the list of available SQL Servers. Specify authentication method to use for connection.
  7. On the Specify Database step, specify product database that stores data you want to report on, for example, your InTrust Audit database.
  8. Click Next and wait for connection test to complete. Click OK to finish data source configuration.

You can skip data source configuration in the setup; then you will have to configure your data sources later, as described in the Configuring Data Sources section of Quest Knowledge Portal Installation Guide.
