Can I add the query used to the resulting report sent to my email?

The audit team we use always ask to see the query and filters used to produce a given report. I used a similar tool prior to Quest CA - It had a box you clicked and the filters used were shown in the delivered PDF.

Am I just missing the option?

  • Hi Glen,

In the CA client you can click View | Show SQL Tab

This will expose the generated SQL used by the search on tab called 'SQL' found on the search properties.

That being said, there is no option currently unfortunately to include the generated SQL query or the filters in the exported report/scheduled report output.

  • I am using the web interface and see no view option for Quest Change Auditor 6.9.5.

I would say that in terms of completeness I am really excited about walking my audit teams through every one of the reports we use and proving the filters manually when the last toolset offered this with a button.

    Thanks Chris.
  • Hi Glen,

    I see.

The View menu which contains two advanced optional tabs (SQL + XML) will only be found in the Win32 client currently. Will not find these menus in the web client which is close but not quite on par with the Win32 client feature wise.

I would suggest to open a Service Request to submit this as a possible product enhancement.

    support.quest.com/create-service-request

Based on some quick research we have not had other requests previously for this functionality.

    Regards,
    Chris
