What can cause "Unable to convert attendee information" warnings?

I have a very large Lotus Notes account to migrate and have many pages of warnings regarding unable to convert attendee information, please advise what can cause this warning.

  • Hi Geoff,

Thanks for posting in the On Demand Migration for Email (ODME) forum. Although there are many potential reasons why ODME may log warnings about being unable to convert attendee information, the most common cause would be for attendees that do not have a valid SMTP address (Internet Address) assigned in Notes. These attendees may be Notes users, rooms or resources that either were never assigned an Internet Address, or the address that was assigned does not meet SMTP address standards.

These warnings could also be potentially caused by permissions issues with the ODME Notes migration admin account not having "Manager" rights to the Domino Directory (names.nsf) in order to properly create the address translation table required to translate Notes addresses (User/NotesOU/DominoDomain) to SMTP addresses (user@domain.com).

The ODME Domino Web Service does generate a log file which may be helpful in investigating this issue as well. The log file can be found in the following location on the workstation or server hosting the ODME Domino Web Service:

    C:\windows\temp\DellODMENotesService.log

If the information above does not help resolve your issue, then we would need some additional information to investigate further:

1.) What is "Customer Name" that was used when creating your account in ODME? This is in the upper-right after signing into the ODME portal and is typically a company name.

2.) What is the name of the "Migration Plan" in which this issue is occurring?

3.) What is the SMTP address (email address) of the affected user(s)?

In order to protect your privacy, you may want to create a Service Request to submit this information:
