Executive MessageWhy Quest Now Calls Itself a Smart Systems Management Company – And One Way We Can Show You In the last issue of re:Quest, I shared with you that we conducted two research projects to better understand our customers’ perceptions of Quest. One of the things our satisfied customers told us is that they like our products, but want to know more about Quest as a company. In addition, they often weren’t aware of our full breadth of product offerings. So, for example, you might be very familiar with our Windows Management products but not know that we offer Virtualization Management products. In light of these findings, you will see Quest communicate more about our company, how we serve our customers and where we are going in the future.
At Quest, we are all about helping our customers. We do this by creating and supporting smart systems management products to help our customers solve everyday IT challenges faster and easier. You may have noticed that we rolled out a new corporate tagline in the past few months: Quest Software – Smart Systems Management. We believe this new tagline accurately reflects the unique value we offer. In addition, industry analysts such as Forrester have ranked Quest in the top five of the IT management software providers. We are very proud of our company and our employees, and we look forward to talking more about Quest with you, our valued customers.
To truly get a sense of the breadth of Quest’s smart systems management products, I invite you to attend Quest Connect 2009 on Oct. 21 – 22. At this annual online event, you can learn – virtually – about the breadth of solutions we provide to address your toughest IT challenges. No matter where you are in the world, you can access webcasts, white papers, demos, and our many experts, plus interact with your peers. I’ll be delivering the keynote address on Oct. 21, alongside Carol Fawcett, our vice president of Information Services. Quest Connect – it’s free to attend, by the way – runs for 24 hours to accommodate all time zones and it brings essential insight right to your desk. And you can avoid the hassles, hours and expense of travel. How smart is that? You can click here to register.
Very best regards,
Doug Garn, President and CEO, Quest Software

Case Study HighlightSeatonCorp Delivers Low Cost, High Reliability Virtual Desktops via Quest vWorkspace
SeatonCorp is a leading provider of recruiting, vendor-on-premise staffing and end-to-end supplier management resources for strategic users of contingent labor. The company must manage a complex and distributed environment consisting of a large network of offices. The office staffers are often temporary workers, which creates access and security challenges that IT needed to address. SeatonCorp chose Quest's vWorkspace for its VDI solution and has rolled it out to several offices; it plans to virtualize more than 800 additional desktops in the next two years. With an average savings of 24% per workstation on hardware alone, SeatonCorp is reaping great cost benefits - as well as protecting its data -- by using vWorkspace. "We looked at several vendors and selected Quest because of the amazing performance and affordability. Out of our 20-person IT staff, we need only two people to support the Quest environment, a huge reduction of what's required to manage traditional IT deployment," said James Maroney, SeatonCorp Director of Infrastructure.
