JProbe®: Product Profile

"We recently completed a project to port a 12 year old Windows C++ GUI into a rich internet application requiring an extensive set of Java programs. At initial roll-out we faced some performance issues that were extremely hard to drill-out just through product testing and debugging. So we had to find a better way to target and resolve these issues. JProbe allowed us to pinpoint the exact lines of code that were executed too often, out of sequence or unnecessarily. The positive customer response to the improvements and the speed at which we were able to target, fix and roll-out changes was directly attributed to our use of the JProbe product."

-----------------------------------------

JProbe, as part of Quest’s Application Management for Java and Portals, provides enterprise development teams in pre-production with deep-level performance, memory and coverage analysis capabilities. JProbe enables developers to quickly locate and begin to analyze why a particular performance problem is occuring. It helps developers rapidly discover, diagnose and resolve method and line-level problems that impair Java and Portal application performance, stability and scalability.

Java development teams can quickly analyze memory leaks, excessive garbage collection activity, code bottlenecks including deadlocks, and test coverage deficiencies in their Java and Portal application components. With the addition of JProbe’s unique performance analysis automation and metrics reporting functionality, development teams can leverage the build process to boost productivity, mitigate the risk of human error and ensure the delivery of memory-stable, high-performing application code. Managers can ensure that projects stay on schedule, remain on budget and satisfy all requirements.

Additionally, as part of Quest’s Continuous Performance Management Suite for Java, JProbe integrates with Quest’s PerformaSure®. The suite delivers a complete, integrated solution for conducting performance analysis during unit testing, integration and load testing across the Java technology stack in a pre-production environment.

Used by thousands of companies worldwide, JProbe can be integrated easily into your application server, Web server, IDE, OS and JDK (see full platform support) maximizing Java custom application performance across the enterprise. With broad platform support, including 32-bit and 64-bit support across commonly used operating systems, as well as Java SE 6 and JVMTI support, JProbe provides the flexibility you need to profile and analyze your application on both your desktop (local session) and remote server (remote session).
