Quest Software Improves Network Management for SMB Managed Service Providers

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., April 25, 2011 – Quest Software  (Nasdaq: QSFT) today announced the availability of the newest release of PacketTrap^® MSP, a robust, remote monitoring, management and service delivery platform for SMB managed service providers (MSPs). The new release has been enhanced with security features, including the integration of antivirus (AV) detection software into the PacketTrap MSP platform. The integration of this new security functionality allows MSPs to sell a value-added service that ensures customer networks and devices are protected against the increasing number of malware threats and attacks. PacketTrap MSP now also features customizable reports and a Global Policy Management tool that easily maps to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and streamlines daily network monitoring and management.

• Now integrated with VIPRE® Antivirus software, which enables MSPs to ensure customer network security by providing real-time status updates on all devices from a central location. This eliminates the need for MSPs to sell, install and manage a separate third-party solution for antivirus detection.
• Has a new Global Policy Management feature that provides global configuration and unique-device configuration through a single user interface. This reduces ongoing management time and costs for MSPs. Technicians have more time to focus on revenue generating projects rather than configuring monitoring solutions.
• Can create new custom reports and dashboard gadgets with a simple wizard to quickly view and report on most data monitored within the system.
• Supports leading-edge technologies including out-of-the-box monitoring support for Cisco Nexus switches and VMware ESX and ESXi, allowing MSPs to offer new services and gain entry into a new customer base that operates in a virtualized environment.  Enables MSPs to offer Exchange 2010 migration and monitoring services that support in-depth visibility of running processes, and auto-remediation capabilities that address minor issues. 
• Accommodates MSPs requiring additional customization and flexibility with common web service to pull information on devices, alerts and tickets into third-party systems.
