Features and Benefits

Quest Notes Migrator for Exchange provides an ideal solution for companies migrating from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange. It converts users' mail, calendars, tasks and personal address books and stores them on users' new mailboxes on the Exchange server. It also migrates information stored in Notes local stores into Microsoft Outlook personal stores. In addition, it:

Migrates data stored on Notes servers directly to corresponding mailboxes on an Exchange server

  • Valuable information in e-mail messages is preserved. Users retain their folder structure and organization. They can reply to messages without needing to make any edits to addresses. Dates, times, senders, recipients and attachments are all preserved, maintaining the history of threaded conversations. Scheduled appointments and task lists are also retained.

Converts personal address books into contacts stored on the Exchange Server

  • Notes Migrator preserves key address book information, such as phone numbers, fax numbers and mailing addresses. Users can continue to address messages using the nicknames they previously defined, eliminating the need to recreate the information or use cumbersome procedures to export, edit and import address book data. This significantly lowers migration project costs by reducing help desk calls and lost productivity.

Converts personal distribution lists

  • Notes Migrator eliminates the need for cumbersome export/import and data entry procedures by preserving key address book information such as phone and fax numbers, mailing addresses, nicknames and distribution lists.

Converts Notes local stores into Outlook personal stores

  • Local stores contain valuable corporate data. Users can reply to messages without making any edits to the address(es). Calendar and task data in archives is also migrated to Outlook personal stores.

Automatically determines appropriate Internet addresses

  • Notes Migrator automatically creates a table of user names, native Notes addresses and preferred Internet addresses that Administrators can review and edit using Microsoft Excel or Access.

Operates as an end-user or administrator-driven program

  • Administrators can migrate all data available to them without requiring any end-user intervention. This includes all Notes server-based data and personal address books. Local stores located on servers can also be migrated by the administrator. When local stores reside on end-user workstations, Notes Migrator can be installed on a file server and includes an easy-to-use interface for end users. Nothing is installed on end-user workstations.

Automates mail routing

  • As it migrates users' mailboxes, Notes Migrator can automatically set forwarding from a users' Notes mailbox to their corresponding Exchange mailbox. This ensures that all new mail, meeting invitations, etc., are sent to the users' Exchange mailboxes.
