Quest One Quick Connect for RACF

Identity & Access Synchronization for the Enterprise

Quest One Quick Connect for RACF integrates online identities with Quest One (ActiveRoles Server, Quest One Identity Manager or Password Manager), Active Directory-based or enterprise solutions to extend provisioning to platforms based on Access Control Facility within your infrastructure.

Quest One Quick Connect for RACF connects to your RACF instance(s) on premises. It populates users or groups using easily-configured provisioning workflows. Once users or groups are provisioned or mapped, one or more workflows can be created to keep the properties synchronized. Deprovisioning workflows may be used to lock down or delete obsolete users and groups.

Extend the functionality with your preferred identity or account management platform to provide a seamless, integrated and password-synchronized account identity with all of your enterprise identity platforms

Features

  • IdentitySync - Synchronizes identities (typically user accounts) to other systems, enabling an Active Directory user to logon to non-Active Directory applications or data sources. Quick Connect uses a set of wizards to configure synchronization profiles. Unlike other synchronization solutions, Quick Connect requires no programming.
  • PasswordSync - Sets initial passwords during provisioning. Password changes in Active Directory are synchronized with connected systems, enabling universal password resets through integration with Quest Password Manager.
  • AutoMapping - Automatically reconciles associated objects (users, groups, etc.) between source and target systems, including auto-creation where no object exists, rule correlation and manual mapping for exceptions.
  • ErrorControl - Reduces the impact of synchronization errors by providing thresholds and stop conditions that determine if and when synchronization should halt due to errors.
  • Codeless Transformation - Converts object types during synchronization so that the source and target objects can be different object types.
  • GroupSync - Synchronizes authorization objects (typically groups) between directories in AD, integrated applications or data sources. Extends your enterprise-wide investment in centralized group management.

Sys Reqs

Before installing Quest One Quick Connect for RACF, ensure your system meets the following minimum hardware and software requirements:

Platform1 GHz or faster, x32 and x64 architecture are supported.
Memory512 MB of RAM; 1 GB or more recommended.
Hard Disk Space250 MB or more of free disk space. The amount of required hard disk space depends on the number of objects being synchronized.
Operating SystemYour computer must run one of the following operating systems (32- or 64-bit edition):
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, Standard or Enterprise
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Standard or Enterprise, with or without any Service Pack
SoftwareThe RACF connector has been verified for synchronization against the following RACF versions:
  • IBM mainframe running z/OS 1.8 (and RACF 1.8)
Additional Software
  • Quest One Quick Connect version 5.1 (installed, licensed and functional)
  • RACF LDAP Directory Services (installed and configured)
  • LDAP Service Account on your RACF Server with permissions to modify other users and groups
