Understanding Performance Issues in a PeopleSoft Environment

As modern ERP systems such as PeopleSoft are developed to deliver information and services over the web, management of these multi-tiered systems increases in difficulty. In order to reach optimal application performance, continuous collection and evaluation of critical data from the application environment is required.

This paper delivers an overview of the multi-tiered PeopleSoft 8.x architecture and discusses important availability and performance monitoring considerations. Performance issues commonly encountered within a PeopleTools 8.x environment are addressed and a solution to each issue is presented.
