Long answer: Yes, but what is officially supported is either the agent being on the same version of the core or no more than 2 previous versions.
For example, if your Rapid Recovery Core is version 6.8, the agent-supported versions are 6.6, 6.7, and 6.8.
Does an agent with an older version work? most likely the answer will be yes, however, the older the agent version is the more likely the scenario is to stumble upon issues as many product improvements have been made over the newer versions.
