June is National Safety Month - Don't Slack On Your #SharePoint Safety Practices!

Did you know that June is National Safety Month? It makes sense since its summer time (or winter for those in the Southern Hemisphere) and that brings its own safety hazards. So while we institute safe grilling practices and all wear our sun block (even those in the Southern Hemisphere – winter sunburns can be bad!), let’s not forget instituting our own SharePoint safety practices because you never know when a giant lobster will crawl out of Boston harbor and attack your SharePoint data center!

Before you brush this off, ask yourself these questions:

  • What is your time to recovery model? (Amount of time it takes to recovery a SharePoint object)

  • What is your recovery point objective model? (Amount of SharePoint data you can recover based on your backup strategy?

  • What is your disaster recovery plan for the following SharePoint disasters:

  • Fat finger content deletion
  • Machine failure
  • Complete SharePoint catastrophe

If you're not sure how to answer some of these questions, then get pointed in the right direction with this whitepaper entitled: When the Wors Happens: SharePoint Recovery written by Todd Klindt (@ToddKlindt) of SharePoint 911.
