As first announced late last week to readers of this blog, and formally announced in a press release this morning, the latest version of Quest® vRanger® is now available. In version 5.2, we introduced features such as full ESX and ESXi support to provide a wide range of backup and recovery capabilities for VMware virtual infrastructure, as well as VMware HotAdd support for faster backups. These new features combined with vRanger’s patent-pending Active Block Mapping, parallel job execution capabilities, dynamic resource governing and integrated catalog to provide an end-to-end user experience unmatched by any other product on the market today.
The virtual data protection business is competitive, and as a result, you’ll probably read a lot this week from our competitors attempting to minimize vRanger for this reason or that. You may read some claims about who ranks number one for this and who ranks number one for that. Just for the record, when Quest talks about where we rank in the marketplace, we back it up (pun intended) with third-party data.
Now, I’m not here to tell you what’s fact and what’s fiction. But I would like to offer a suggestion. What should you do? Start by asking yourself a few simple questions. Which product delivers the type of speed, reliability and scalability needed to protect your virtual infrastructure? Which product delivers the type of automation that makes your day-to-day life easier? And most importantly, when the rubber meets the road, and your job is on the line, which product and vendor can you really trust?
Do we think vRanger is the resounding answer to all of those questions? Absolutely. But don’t take my word for it. The best recommendation that I can give, is to challenge you to try the product and see for yourself. There’s a reason why we have over 38,000 vRanger customers and I’m confident that if you try it, you’ll see what others have seen. So, go for it. Download a 30-day, no-cost trial of vRanger now and test it for yourself. And, if you do it before the week is out, you might win the VIP trip of a lifetime. And that’s a fact.
