Webcast: Keeping the Cloud in Sync with Your Active Directory

3/8/2012 11:00:00 AM [(GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Presented by: Randy Franklin Smith

It’s ironic that after working so hard to integrate on-premise applications with Active Directory and otherwise achieve single sign on that we are now moving applications to the cloud and encountering the same Identity Access Control issues all over again – but such is technology. Thankfully this need has already been recognized by many cloud vendors and there are connection technologies available for linking your Active Directory with Google Apps, Gmail, Office 365, SalesForce and Dynamics CRM Online. But as always with technology and security, the devil is in the details which include:

· Synchronization or live authentication

· Automatic account creation

· Ability to leverage existing AD groups

· Controls like approval, attestation and review

· Auditing

In this webinar

  • I will identify the common requirements for successfully integrating a cloud app with your Active Directory
  • Present a technical overview of the connection technologies available from Google Apps, Gmail, Office 365, SalesForce and Dynamics CRM
  • Identity the caveats and pain points in general and those specific to each of the above

This will be another technical, real-training-for-free (TM) session that will help you expand the reach of and reap more value from your existing Active Directory infrastructure. My sponsor, Quest, will then show you how ActiveRoles Server and Quest One Quick Connect for Cloud Services can simplify keeping the cloud in sync with your Active Directory and help you leverage more from existing Identity & Access Control procedures.
