I am using a backup product of essential for office 365. We want to test the backup/restore options. Currently only restore option is to restore to original location, can we restore the backup to a different location?

Hi Balaji, 

If you would like to restore backed up content to a different location, you are able to do this manually. The wizard only has the option for restoring the content back to the original location. 

You can restore backed up content to a new location by: 

1. Navigate to the Back-up Navigator 

2. Expand the contents

3. Select the item(s) you want to restore 

4. Drag it to the location you would like to restore it to.

*Email is in place only – Sites you are able to drag and drop

Thanks, I will try that. Is it possible to restore it across site collection and that to when they are two different backups.

It is possible to restore sites across a site collection, you would need to expand the backup in order to select from a separate job.
