Active roles 7.1 shows connect failed while first time configuration

Active roles 7.1 shows this message on first time configuration center "connect failed a command that prompts the user failed because the host program or the command type does not support user interaction. the host was attempting to request confirmation with the following message: File c:\program files\dell\active roles\7.1\shell\activerolesserviceconfiguration.psm1 is published by CN=DELL, O=Dell, L=Round, S= Round Rock, S=Texas, C=US and is not trusted on your system. only run scripts from trusted publishers.

  • Recommend you check the Powershell execution policy on your AR server to ensure that it is "AllSigned".

    i.e. Execute Get-ExecutionPolicy at a Powershell prompt.
  • Thank you so much. It solved the issue by running "Set-ExecutionPolicy remoteSigned".
I think "remoteSigned" is more secure as it will download the script and once it recognized as trusted it than allow it to execute.
  • I encountered this issue today when configuring Active Roles in a new environment. It was resolved by importing the certificate on the ActiveRolesServiceConfiguration.psm1 file into the Active Roles server's Trusted Publishers certification store. This way the Execution Policy can be left at AllSigned.
