MultiValueProperty separator display in Windows 10

After upgrading to Windows 10 we found a major nuisance:

The default MultiValueProperty separator bell/char(7) is now displayed as an "empty rectangle"(might be U+2337), instead of the filled circle we were used to have in Windows 7. It makes multi-values really difficult to read, because the separator can not be distinguished from other characters, as it used to be the case.

Trying to visualize the issue:

Windows 7:   VALUE01XYH•VALUE02XYH

Windows 10: VALUE01XYH⌷VALUE02XYH

This issue is present in all tools, including Object Browser and even SQL server studio.
Is there maybe a known quick fix or workaround for this?
