Unable to update user data in active directory.

in previous case I was trying to update AD data from backend i.e via Manager tool but now I am trying to update it from front end and I am getting same error again and again. I tried to compile the database, closed all applications, cleared browsing data still the issue is not resolved. What is the permanent fix for this issue?

What do you mean by "from front end"? The Manager itself is a front end as well is it not?

Try to restart the webserver. In case of a connection to an AppServer you would need to restart the AppServer instead of the webserver.

For me front end is Webportal. 

In production, I wont be able to restart the servers. Is there a permanent fix for this issue?

You do not need to "restart" the servers, just the application pools of the web portal and application server in some maintenance window.

If this is related to vpr#29847, then just do a full compile and no partial compiles. But this should only appear "once" and should not be recurring.
