Scheduled tasks

"Some errors occured when running scheduled tasks. To view the errors, click here"

But no error in scheduled task. How do I clear that message?

Parents
  • Hello,

Most likely there is a hidden task that is actually failing.  If you looking the One Identity Password Manager event log within the Event viewer you can see the task that is failing.

Generally the task that fails is the storage replication task due to lack of permissions on the service account.

You also un-hide tasks from within the shared.storage file on the Password Manager server

    1) Back up the shared.storage file: C:\ProgramData\One Identity\Password Manager
    2) open the shared.storage file using notepad
    3) search for "tasks"
    4) scroll down to find:

    <task schedulingType....enabled="true" hidden="false" period="01:00:00" ....

    5) Change the hidden="True" to hidden="False”
    6) Save the shared.Storage file
    7) Relaunch the Admin page and scheduled tasks will now be visible.

    Thanks
    Stephen

  • Hi Stephen,

I have followed your steps and show the hidden scheduled task.

I have resolved the permission issue with the Instance Synchronization.

I am no longer seeing the error message in Event Viewer, under Applications and Services Log > PM - One Identity Password Manager.

But in the PMAdmin site, i am still seeing the error message in red, "An error occurred while running this task. View the event log."

Could you please guide me on how to reset/remove this error message as this seems like a false alarm to administrator.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Kee Wee,

its sounds like there might be an orphaned error in the shared.storage file.  Please back up the shared.storage file, open it up in notepad and look for and errors which may be listed inside that file.  You can then clear the errors within the file.  If you are unable to locate any errors additional investigation will be required therefore please contact Technical Support and create a ticket.

    Thanks

    Stephen

  • Kee, what version of PM do you have? I have the same issue and am thinking maybe is version related.
