Post Password Release Reset

I have a strange issue.  I have an account on a system that is pending post password release.  There's an issue with the functional account password (we know this) that has caused TPAM to send out an email letting the team know that there was an error changing the password.  The issue is, TPAM has sent 97 messages about this system/account in 1 day.  The team has  gotten 150+ emails over 2 days for this one system.  Changing the password change profile doesn't work because this is not a scheduled change.  Is there a way to limit the number of emails for a post password release email?  Are there any settings that I can view to see how we can change this behavior?
