How do I fix a Configuration Manager Discovery Node Stopping Failure. Now that it's stuck in this mode, I can't do anything with it. Any suggestions?

The network account that I tried to associate with the discovery node must not have had the correct access. However, now that it's associated I can't change anything because there is an error of "Stopping Failed". Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Hello,

This sounds similar to an error which can occur when nodes fail to initialize. I would recommend the following steps:

1) Log into the node host and stop the node service manually.
2) Attempt to remove the node again (this may fail).
3) If the second attempt to remove the node fails follow the kb linked below replacing "Initializing" with "Stopping"
