Created a new rule. Is there a way to check if this rule is causing any performance issue.

Hi,

I added a logic inside the default "Agent Health State" rule for checking if there are any open alarms from "Disconnected Foglight Agent Managers" before raising an alarm. Is there a way to check if this new logic is causing any performance issue on FMS.

  • Hi RV,
Yes, you could generate an FMS Support Bundle and open the Diagnostic_Snapshot.txt file inside that zip file. If you search for "Cost breakdown" you should see a list of the more expensive Rules and Derivations in your FMS server. The breakdown is done by CPU and memory. It should look like this:

If you have another bundle, taken before the one you just created, it could be used to identify if the rule moved up in the list (more expensive).

Keep in mind the support bundle covers a one week period.

    I hope this helps,

    Gaston.
