Ways to optimize backup jobs

Hi,

 

We have 100+ small (~10 GB) databases in a SQL instance and while backups are running we noticed that backup is running on one database and other databases are queued for backups. Is there any setting in LS to exec backups for multiple databases. for ex: backup 3 databases simultaneously. If not, can we have this as product tool enhancement?

Also, please let me know how to speed up backup jobs.

    Hello,

    Please note LS – 556 was created as an enhancement request to address the issue of running backups for multiple databases simultaneously.

    For your question about speeding up backup jobs.

    I would advise opening a support ticket so we can review what parameters you currently use.

    But as a first step I would run the backup analyzer tool.

    This tool allows you to test various backup parameters to see which one offers the fastest backup speed.

    More details on how to run the tool can be found in the help files.
