Outlook profile - managed exchange - password prompt

After processing and moving the workstation, the user logs in and attempts to open their Outlook.  They are immediately challenged by Exchange for their password.  Is this supposed to be processed as part of the profile?  Trying to understand if this is by design or not.

Thanks

  • Credentials stored in the user profile are not updated. They are maintained as is. The exception is IE cached passwords. They are encrypted using the calling users SID and as such are lost.

In your case, source user was a mailbox enabled user, or a linked to a resource forest linked mailbox, Sidhsitory should have allowed them to access the mailbox (Outlook opening). this assumes that a sidfiltering is disabled and a proper trust is in place.
