How to change the platform and license from HPUX to Oracle Solaris for Netvault Backup Plugin for Orcale?

Hi Expert

We use the plugin Netvault Backup Plugin For Oracle on HPUX.

This year we will change the equipment and OS from HPUX to Oracle Solaris.

How can we change the license and OS platform for the plugin:
1-st question - if we have a valid support?
2-nd question - if there is no active support?

Thanks.

  • Hi,
We support Oracle Linux, as well as Solaris 10 and 11 as a client operating system but not the NV Server.
I however do not see that our compatibility matrix specifies that we support Oracle Solaris specifically. In that case, it is possible that we do not support this OS, however I will consult with our product managers to find out a definitive answer.

  • Hi,
We have just recently published the latest Compatibility Matrix and it does not show that we support Oracle Solaris - however I have just got an update from the head of development who said that Oracle Solaris is supported as a client. So, you can move to this, although you will have to uninstall and reinstall the client and reconfigure any jobs, scripts, etc..

  • Hi Andre!
    Thanks for the answer.
I realized that we can move to Oracle Solaris if it is used as a client.
But the question is more about the use of licenses.
We have 4 licenses Netvault Backup Plugin licenses for Oracle On Hp Ux.
Can we migrate these 4 licenses to Netvault Backup Plugin For Oracle On Solaris, without buying them, if we have support?
