Link tracking question - Need help

Hi Team,

Is that link tracking taken care about the below scenarios.

1. I have one lotusnotes document which has 2 files (pdf or any files) attached . these files are referenced in other document in html field.

Quest: when we migrate these documents to sharepoint is that attached files url will replace with sharepoint attachment url in other document html field ?

2. I have one lotusnotes document which referenced in other document in html field.

Question : hope referenced link will be handled.

  • 1. How do the links look like - are they normal Notes DocLinks, or is this another mechanism? (I didn't know it was possible to have a DocLink to an attached file.)

    2. How is the "html field" stored in the other document? Is it inside a Notes Rich Text field, or is it a data type of ist own?
And how is it migrated - is it converted to a target fields, or is the HTML transferred as is?
  • Hi Peter,

    Thanks for quick replay.

    2. One document is referenced with other document in Notes Rich text field -- when we migrate these documents - note fileds migrating to SharePoint Html field.... hence in sharepoint is that reference replace with sharepoint item url ?
  • So, there is a Rich Text field in Notes item A with a Notes DocLink, which is pointing to Notes item B.
Yes, Link Tracking (if enabled an configured) will replace that DocLink with a dynamic link that will point to the SharePoint item that item B was migrated to.
(As long as item B has not yet been migrated, the dynamic link will redirect back to Notes.)
