Not sending Notification e-mails / Windows Logs VERSION: 6.0.1.609

Hello all,

We currently have Rapid Rec. VERSION: 6.0.1.609 running but we dont get any notifications.

The SMTP settings have been added, can send test mails, and have added notification groups with e-mail and windows logging.

But none of the options seem to work ? Any suggestions are welcome :)

  • Unfortunately, this is probably caused by a defect we have in the upgrade process from 5.4.3 to 6.0.1.  Here are two options for steps that should fix this for you.

Option 1 - script to fix the registry settings:

    Direct Download:

Here are steps to apply the Powershell script:
    1. Download and unzip PowerShell script
    2. Run Powershell as Administrator.
      1. change directory to where the script is located
      2. execute it by entering in .\MigrateTo601.ps1
      3. if it fails to execute run the next command: Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
      4. run the script again
    3. Open the registry editor and make a backup (export) of this HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AppRecovery
      1. make sure that the registry key 'UseCoreAlertSettings' has been deleted under the EventsService branch for all agents (located in this path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AppRecovery\Core\Agents\{AGENT_ID}\EventsService\) - as seen in this screenshot: screencast.com/.../ZSexKfbPZv92)
      2. if the UseCoreAlertSettings exists, then delete it before restarting service.
    4. Restart Core Service (when the UseCoreAlertSettings key no longer exists)
    Option 2:
    1. Add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AppRecovery\Core\Agents\_ID_\EventsService\AgentAlertingPolicy registry branch for agents where this key is missing

If this does not work, please open a support case and a member of the team should be able to help track down the specific issue causing the failure.

For those looking to upgrade from AppAssure 5.4.3 to Rapid Recovery, please upgrade directly to version 6.1. These defects are fixed and the migration should be a much smoother process.
