vRanger 7.6.0.1 Replications failing with unknown error

After an upgrade to 7.6.0.1 from 7.3x all of our replications are failing at the very end. They get to what seems like 100% and report an unknown error and fail. All vRanger appliances were also upgrade to 7.6.

Any ideas?

  • The solution so far is to remove the original replication target and start from scratch. Although it fixes it (so far), that is a problem if you are replicating over a small pipe to a remote data center. I am fortunate to be running over a 10 Gbs line.

I have left 2 replicas in a failed stated in case Quest wants to do further research. Otherwise, delete to complete.
  • Apparently this isnt the fix in all cases as some "fixed" VMs failed again during replication and others that did not have a problem originally have failed while some are fine.

In addition I now have some VM's failing on back up jobs.
  • Just an update, there is no update. Still having issues. The same VMs fail and additional random VMs will fail but may subsequently work. Changing the config file per related thread "error-2319---retry-timedout-operation-timed-out-at-timeout_thread-470" did not have any effect.
  • I'm also having same issues!
And now, vranger 7.6 has disappeared from dell download site!!
  • Hello tecnodata, As mentioned in this forum post there has been a couple of Product Notifications put out regarding vRanger 7.6. To address several of the current issues, vRanger 7.6 may be removed and go back to using vRanger 7.5.1, with the steps from this KB Article 230279.
