Emails from Postmaster to Archive.manager@(ourorganization) in our Exchange message logs

There are a large number of emails from Postmaster@(ourorganization) to archive.manager@(ourorganization) showing in our Exchange messaging logs. Anyone know why or how to stop this behavior? Archive.Manager is the email address of our ArchiveMgr_Journal mailbox. Why is Postmaster sending email there? Is this expected behavior?

  • My educated guess is that you are Journalist a mailbox where the postmaster messages are being delivered. That would cause them to be collected in the journal mailbox and in turn into Archive manager. So you need to see who these Postmaster messages are being delivered to and see if they need to be journal.

Another option is to Filter them messages on the way into the Archive.
  • The from address in the messaging logs is the postmaster address and the to address is archive.manager@(ourorganization).
  • Hi Mananta,

Are you still having any issues with this one? Did you find out why the Postmaster is sending to the Journal mailbox?

    Thank you

    Dave
