Report generation takes days

Hi,

We have an ER 3.0 setup on two machines, one machine is the dedicated SQL server and the other is hosting the other roles (ER server, node).

When we generate certain reports, it takes about 2 to 3 days before we end up with a report with 25.0000 pages...
The reports are 'duplicate files' and 'files not accessed in x years'...

It seems obvious for these reports that I cannot limit the query to the first x records but that all the data needs to be 'analyzed' before the report can be generated but I would like to know if there are any other options I have to minimize the time it takes to generate the report?

Regards,
Steve.

  • Hello Steve,

Depending on what you are doing with the data, exporting to CSV instead of generating a report can result in faster output. You could also try not sorting the data by folder, however, that would jumble up the results and could be a lot harder to deal with.

Is the CSV export an option?
