Report for listing folders that have not been accessed in N amount of time

Hi

I am trying to write a report that lists the parent folders if they have not been accessed in a certain amount of time (say 1 year) so we can remove them if unused.  Has anyone had any expereience of this?

Thanks

Chris

  • Thank you for your request.  One of our team members will look into this. Before we do, can you please answer the following questions:

    1) What version of Enterprise Reporter is being used?

    2) What discoveries have been run?

                    AD

                    Azure AD

                    Azure Resources

                    Computers

                    Exchange

                    Exchange online

                    File Storage Analysis

                    NTFS

                    Registry

                    SQL

    3) What library report is the closest match to what you require?

    4) What fields are required in the report and with what sorting?

    5) What parameters are required for filtering of the report?

    6) How will this report be consumed?  Viewed in Report Manager, exported to CSV, exported to PDF, etc.?

    Thank you,

    -Angela

  • Hi Angela

Thanks for getting back to me, sorry if I was a bit vague there.

We are using Enterprise Reporter 3.1 and I am attempting to do some NTFS discoveries to check which user and group folders (probably in the Parent Path) haven't been accessed in a certain amount of time so we can clear out any unused folders that are no longer used.

I want a list of the parent path folders and when they were last accessed.  Folders don't appear of have the last accessed property like files do so I would guess that the last modified might have to do.

I would say the nearest existing library report would be between Folders modified in last (N) days grouped by parent path or if its possible to get out a parent path where none of the files have been accessed in the last  n days then Files last accessed in last (n) days would be better.

All we need would be a list of folders parent path that hadn't been accessed in say 6 months or what we specify.  We would only need a list of the parent paths not used and when it was last accessed/modified.  We would only need to view the report in report manager really but if its easy enough to get it out in a CSV or PDF this would also be good as well.

    Thanks

    Chris
