Remote Registry service is missing

Hello all-

Current customer has about 500 Windows 7 systems. When I try to install the RUM agents, they install and start but I get a warning that the Remote Registry service is stopped. Upon inspection, I noticed that the Remote Registry service is MISSING. I'm not making this up. Customer can't elaborate as to why this is.

I've been searching around and can't find anything about how to re-install this service.

Never run into this before. Has anyone else? If so, how did you resolve?

Thanks,

Eric

  • Thanks for the quick response, Enrico. I think it's security-related. The GPO that starts the service has the security set to Enterprise Admins as having full rights. I've asked the customer to add back "Administrators". I'll report back on the results.
