Need help about the Resource Updating Manager

Hi,

Could somebody give me any advice about the error we faced in the Resource Updating Manager?

We installed MMAD on a Server and succeeded to migrate all AD user accounts to a new domain without any problems.

And, we tried to go to the next step, and clicked "the Resource Updating Manager" to open it.

Then, the error below popped up, and if I closed the error window, the screen of Resource Updating Manager was also closed.

We installed the MMAD with domain admin, which has the full admin role.

Do you think I have to re-install the MMAD software again to solve the issue?

Error:

"Starting Resource Updating Manager console"

To use the Resource Updating Manager, your account needs one or both of the following:
-The Full Admin role
-To be specified as a delegate for a resource processing task

I would really appreciate it if somebody could advice me.

Thank you.

  • What the error message is telling you is that the account you are logged on as does not have the needed permission.  The account you were logged on as when you installed the application AND configured the migration project, is the only account that is a full admin by default.

In the mail user interface, right click on menu bar, on the upper left hand corner title, select delegation. Add the account use want to be able to use the resource update manager. If the account is already listed, call support and open a support case. You will most likely need to recreate the project as these permissions are initially defined during the project creation and are not something that can be changed with information posted on a public forum.

  • Are you thinking that this might tie back to the permissions on the Project within AD LDS?

  • I am not sure.  There was not a lot on info on exactly what the process they were following when this error was presented. I am not sure they saw if from using the main IU within the project or directly launching the RUM UI from the OS.  You know me it is the details that are key ;)
