Map SIDs Using Quest Migration Manager for AD map file

Hello All,

I am working through a no trust migration between to healthcare companies with QMM for AD 8.14. We have successfully migrated users and workstations. Now we are attempting to use the SecureCopy option "Map SIDs Using Quest Migration Manager for AD map file" to copy files from a NetApp filer to another NetApp filer and map the new domain SIDs to the file. I am trying to determine how you export the information from QMM for AD to use as the map file in SecureCopy. I am searching but I don't see anything that tells the steps to correctly export a list of all users in the domain and their SIDs mapped to the new target domain SIDs.

Does anyone know where these steps are laid out? Am I correct in thinking this option should work to copy the user files and update the SIDs to the new domain SIDs?

Thanks in advance,

Wayne

  • Answered my own question.

Dumping the VMOVER.INI with the correct info and using it in the option: Map SIDs Using Quest Migration Manager for AD map file allows me to copy files from one share on NetApp to another on different NetApp filer and has the permissions for both domains...next test is to take out the old domain ACLs

But the main point is the copy and updating ACLs works
