Chrome very slow after migration

I'm having a similar issue to another post on here, where Chrome isn't working quite right after migration, it takes over a minute to open, and then if you try to load a webpage such as Google it takes a good minute or two before it loads that.  The solution in that thread appears to be deleting the Chrome cookies from the profile, that does not work for my situation.  Here's what we've tried so far to no avail.

Started Chrome with --disable-extensions

Removed Cookies and Cookies-journal from the profile folder

Removed Web Data* named files from the profile folder

Removed the History* files from the profile folder

Removed the Cache folder from the profile folder

If we remove the entire profile folder and let Chrome create a fresh one and copy the bookmark file from the original profile into the new profile, it works as expected.  if we copy the entire original profile folder to a completely different machine and use that as the Chrome profile, it works fine.   Not sure where to go on this one, does that last thing mean it's permissions on the local machine that was RUM'd?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

  • We had a similar issue and it ended up being caused by a connection setting managed in the Internet Explorer options. IE - Settings - Connections - LAN Settings - UNcheck Automatically Detect Settings. Somehow the issue was triggered during migrations.
