Tape Drive Management

Hi

We are using Netvault Backup Software ( 11.4.0.22) with Dell DR4300e appliance and Dell Standalone tape drive(Single drive LTO6).

After successfully performing previous month backup onto tape, the tape was removed by using Netvault WebUI ( By clicking Unload from Tape Drive Management). Now, when we inserted new tape and after trying to label that tape, Tape activity is always showing as "Positioning" whereas Status is showing as "Online"

Also the new tape added is not showing up in Explore Tape Storage

Now, backup onto tape is always failed with error message " Media request failed:Media request no suitable drive/media pair"

Any help would be appreciated

Thank You

  • Because it is a standalone drive that does not recognize bar codes, the drive always reads the media header information when the tape is inserted. "Positioning" -> "BLANK"

New tapes are not displayed. Displayed when a label is set.

First, make a label job that matches your backup schedule and try backing up.
