I am using NetVault 11.3.0. I have got a few questions regarding NetVault tape management.
My activity to be performed on NetVault Backup is that I want to allocate some tapes to the media group. Those tapes are newly added in the library.
Q.1 To perform the activity I have to open the door of the library. On the GUI, I don't find the button of Open Door as its stated in the Administration Guide to click on the button! If anyone does know how to do it, please instruct the steps.
Q.2 I tried to opened the door through command line interface of NetVault Backup server; I got the result of command as Door is opened. On the GUI, its in the state of Door Being Opened from last on hour.
Does NetVault Backup take a lot of time to open the door?
Q.3 Initially, when I allocated media to the library, the tapes moved to the group BLANK, but they are in grey color as if they are disabled. What does this mean? There is no option displayed after clicking on those(newly added in grey color seems disable) tapes.
Q.4 Please if you can elaborate the whole process in steps as I have to check what am I missing.
Hello mianeemaan tayyab
Here are some screenshots of a 11.3 on how to get to "Open Door" button it should not take more than couple minutes (2,3,5)
Open Door button
After doing this you can take out or put in the tapes you want to change and when finish then you just click Close Door button.
Post screenshots if something else pop out about this.
Thanks for the reply. I have clicked on Manage Devices --> Tape Library Management but I can't see the Open Door button;
