Translation of UserFolderPrefix does not work

Hi,

we currently migrate with MNE 4.15.2 from Domino 9.0.1 to Office365. We want to have all Folders from Notes in one Folder in Outlook again and use the UserFolderPrefix Option with the following settings:

And the translation is done here:

Now the folder on a German language Mailbox is still "Folders" and not renamed to "Ordner"

I've tried to write "FOLDERS" in capital letters or "Folders" - that does not make any difference.

Any idea why the translation does still not work?

Hello Peter,

Thanks for posting in the Migrator for Notes to Exchange (MNE) forum. Have you tried using the following configuration:

[Notes]

UserFolderPrefix=Ordner

If you are using migration configuration templates, try going through the wizard instead (not using a configuration template), to ensure these settings are in affect. Also, clear out any migrated data from Outlook and empty the Trash before testing again.

Please let me know if this changes your results.

Hi Trevor,

thanks - but the source Folder Name is in the language of the notes Mailbox. "Ordner" is only the German Version of it. In an English Notes Mailbox the Folder is called "Folders". It will do the trick that the Folder is called "Ordner" when I Change it in the global config - but then the Name is again everywhere "Ordner" what i do not want to have. We want to have the Folder Name in the language of the Notes source.

Eventually it has to do with the Notes design pattern. Is there more Information how MNE is checking the source language and detects what translations should be applied?

Hello Peter,

Thanks for the update. I believe I understand your concern, you are migrating other languages other than German, so you need to change the behavior of Migrator for Notes to Exchange (MNE) based on multiple languages, correct?

What version of Outlook are you using on the MNE migration server? Is it the click-to-run version installed from Office 365?

Hi Trevor,

correct - we have different languages and want to have the folder in Outlook in the same language as it was in Notes.

We currently use Version 1807 (Build 10325.20118 Click-to-Run). Hi Peter,

Thanks for the update. I am working on installing the German language pack in Domino in my lab environment to try and reproduce this issue. If you have a sample mail file (NSF) that you are able to provide us for testing, that may help speed up the process. If you are able to provide sample data, then to protect your data privacy, we would suggest creating a Service Request. The data doesn't really need to be real, just sample data in a German NSF file.

In the meantime, I will continue with installing a German language pack in Domino and creating a sample German NSF in my environment.
