I am working on recovering a linux box hosted on VMware 5.5. Once I managed to get a boot CD with the appropriate drivers, I am now showing an IP address in the Universal Recovery Console. From there I can ping addresses, including my Rapid Recovery server, and I can ping the machine running Universal Recovery Console. I'm running Rapid Recovery version 184.108.40.206. The error I get when I try to connect from the recovery workflow is:
The Rapid Recovery Linux Live DVD instance cannot be reached at '10.161.10.21'. Please, ensure that your target machine has been successfully booted from Live DVD and the specified IP address/authentication key are valid

Have you found a solution to this?
Sadly, I did not.
Our apologies for the reply's delay.
From the mention of "drivers" and "BootCD" above, it sounds as if a linux bare metal restore process is being attempted using the Windows BootCD you can create from the core console (which is only for Windows bare metal restore). The error also mentions the "LiveDVD" which is what a Linux BMR process requires. Steps are very much like a Windows BMR, but it requires the Linux boot ISO one can download from the License Portal or the downloads page. I trust the information below will help.
