License vs Repository Size

Setting up a new RR server. My license is only for 5TB repository but the raid disk i am setting up is 10tb partition. I purposely purchased more disk space in case i needed to expand my license to 10tb in the future. When i set up the first repository, can i point it to one large 10tb partition and the license will only allow 5tb use or would i need to create a 5tb partition then expand later?

Also, are you referring to Front End or Back End Capacity licensing?
