Replication Fail over (failover) questions

I went searching for information on failover and not finding anything solid. Not sure if it is a searching issue but I don't even see replication failover mentioned in the user guide

The steps laid out in the TN below show how to fail over but they seem unnecessarily long and complicated. Plus they mention "This is provided as supplemental material to the User Guide until the Fail Over / Fail Back process is updated." Yet I don't see any mention of anything related to "fail over" in any of the User Guides.

I do see that even the word has changed in more recent versions. So instead of being "fail over" it is now "failover" not a huge issue but makes it a bit harder to search

This appears to lay out a very simple process but its 4 years old

The forum post below seems to mention the same issues but all of the links are dead so hard to be sure. Tudor also mentions "I prefer to achieve the same results differently" but does not say what process he uses (I know Tudor is gone now)
