Scanned DIN A4 Document is stripped to DIN A5 on the RDP-Server

Hi,

I have several licenses of RemoteScan Enterprise running on Windows 7 and Windows 10. All working well.

A few days ago. I installed a new Canon DR-C225 scanner on an Windows 7 workstation, tested local scanning successfully and then switched the RemoteScan Server from a previously installed Kyocera MFP to the newly installed DR-C225.

Testing the scanning function on the Terminalserver (using our CRM-software and also Twack_32.exe) I received the scanned DIN A4 document stripped off to a DIN A5 Document. The top left area of the scanned document equals to the original document, but the right side and the bottom of the original document is cut off.

This behaviour only occurs on the one mentioned workstation.

The Terminalservers I tested the scanning with run "Windows Server 2003 Standard x64" and "Windows Server 2012 R2". Same behaviour on both machines.

The RemoteScan Client version on the Server 2003 machine is an older version. The RemoteScan Client version on the Server 2012 is an actual version downloaded on Aug. 1st, 2018.

The RemoteScan Server version I used on the Workstation was an older version, too. But now I have updated the Workstation to the RemoteScan Server version downloaded on Aug. 1st, 2018.

Does anyone know what to do to get the complete document transferred to the Terminalserver?

Thanks in advance

Toddy

  • Hi Toddy,

For certain Canon scanners, it is necessary to disable automatic color mode, automatic resolution detection, and automatic page size detection in the Canon Twain driver interface. These Canon driver features are enabled by default and may cause issues with images being cut off while scanning with RemoteScan. To disable these features in the Canon Twain driver, you can either open the Canon Twain driver locally using a local Twain-compliant imaging program (such as Twack_32.exe) or you can also enable the "Show Native UI" option in the local RemoteScan options. If you need further assistance with this, you can also contact RemoteScan support at www.remote-scan.com/.../contact.php.

  • Hi Jason,

thank you very much for your help!

Indeed, when I changed the page size to A4, the resolution to 200 dpi and the color mode to 24bit on the client machine using Twack_32.exe, I received the complete page on the Terminalserver.

Have a nice weekend and again, thank you very much for your help!
