Availability Groups and backup alarms

I have read through some of the discussions of how to handle alarms for database backups with Availability Groups but still have not solved my issue.  I do backups from the Primary replica in the Availability Group.  When my AG fails over, I get alarms for my databases that they have not been backed up in so many days.  They have been backed up, only on the other replica.  How do I handle this in Spotlight?

  • Gita,

    I am using Spotlight 12.2.0.9282.

Because of the size and number of my databases I need to do differential backups. Since you cannot do differentials on a secondary replica my backup replica is the primary.
  • I have this exact issue aswell and their support team have investigated but didn't really find a solution. Hopefully they will implement a solution in the future when enough people complain about this. What I do now is just to snooze the alarms and check the backup jobs with a different solution outside of Spotlight.
