I have an MDF file that SQL Server refuses to attach after a server failure. I’ve already checked the SQL Server error logs, but the database still won’t come online. There’s no recent backup I can confidently restore.
I’m considering SysTools SQL Recovery, Stellar Repair for MS SQL, and Kernel for SQL Database Recovery. SysTools looks particularly useful here because it can work directly with corrupted MDF/NDF files, recover individual database objects, and export the recovered data to a healthy SQL Server database. That’s preferable to repeatedly trying repair commands that could potentially result in data loss.
Has anyone faced an MDF that simply wouldn’t attach? What recovery approach or tool worked for you?
