Quest Software, a global leader in data management, cybersecurity, and platform modernization, today announced the appointment of Ed Carter as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Ed Carter

Chief Revenue Officer

Quest Software

As organizations face increasing complexity in securing identities and managing critical data, Quest continues to expand its leadership in trusted identity and trusted data solutions. Earlier this year the company introduced the Quest Trusted Data Management Platform and the Quest Security Management Platform, and recently expanded its Identity Security portfolio with the acquisition of Anetac. Carter’s addition to the C-suite will help further accelerate customer adoption and global partner momentum.

Carter brings more than 30 years of technology experience, including over 25 years leading high-performing SaaS organizations across cybersecurity, IT resilience, customer experience, infrastructure, and enterprise software. Throughout his career, he has successfully built and scaled sales organizations at both high-growth startups and Fortune 200 companies, consistently driving revenue growth, developing high-performing teams, and executing disciplined go-to-market strategies.

Previously, Carter held senior leadership roles at companies such as Trellix, Deep Instinct, Zimperium, Zerto, and VCE, contributing to each organization’s growth during significant stages of expansion.

Before beginning his technology career, Carter served as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, holding roles in both Operations and Finance within the Space and Intelligence sectors. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from the United States Air Force Academy and an MBA in Finance from California State University, Long Beach.

“Over the past year, we have fundamentally strengthened our business around trusted data and trusted identities, and we are uniquely positioned to help organizations navigate an increasingly complex IT landscape,” said Tim Page, CEO, Quest Software. “Ed’s track record of building world-class sales organizations and delivering sustained growth makes him the ideal leader to help expand our market leadership and accelerate our next phase of growth. We’re excited to welcome him to the Quest leadership team.”

“Quest has built a strong foundation with differentiated solutions, loyal customers, and an exceptional team,” Carter said. “I’m excited to join the company and look forward to working with our employees, partners, and customers to expand our impact and deliver outstanding business outcomes.”
