Daechang Forging, a global manufacturer of undercarriage parts for heavy equipment, has adopted Quest Software’s Security Guardian to improve security across its hybrid identity environment that includes on-premises Active Directory (AD) and Azure Entra ID. The company made the decision as identity-based attacks continue to rise in manufacturing and attackers often target AD to gain control of production systems.
Recent research by Quest shows that 66 percent of manufacturing enterprises believe they will face a cyber-attack within the next 12 months. Many expect attacks to exploit identity systems: 22 percent cited ransomware, 21 percent industrial espionage, and 21 percent state-sponsored threats as the biggest risks. The data underlines that when AD is compromised for just 24 hours, more than 38 percent of manufacturers expect revenue losses of US $20–50 million, and 32 percent anticipate losses of US $50–100 million.
Security Guardian is a core component of Quest’s cybersecurity solution that helps organizations protect AD, detect unwanted changes early, and keep identity systems stable. The platform classifies critical AD assets, detects abnormal activity in real time, and restores unauthorized changes. Its AI and machine learning engine identifies suspicious behavior and ranks alerts so teams can respond faster. It also supports policy benchmarking, audit preparation, and SIEM integration.
“With Quest Security Guardian, we can now view the security posture of both our on-premises AD and Azure Entra ID in a single glance. Real time detection and alerting allow us to respond much faster to potential incidents,” said Dongkyu Kim, IT Manager at Daechang Forging.
“Identity systems sit at the core of every connected operation. When attackers target AD, the impact is immediate. Security Guardian gives teams the visibility they need and the control required to reduce risk across both on-premises and cloud environments,” said Rakesh Shah, VP of Product Management at Quest Software.
Daechang Forging plans to use Security Guardian to support compliance efforts and strengthen internal and external audits. The company’s deployment reflects a broader shift among manufacturers toward stronger identity security across hybrid environments.
