SharePlex for database migrations chosen by Nexi, Italian payment processor

[MUSIC PLAYING] I am Sandro Borioni, Chief Technology Officer of Nexi. Nexo is the Italian leader in payments. We provide technology solutions and business process operations to our customer. On our system, we run most of the electronic transaction of payments that are performed in the Italian market through credit cards and debit cards. And we provide millions of cards to consumers and business customers in Italy. We are going through a major transformation of our infrastructures and application toward digital and automation. We needed to migrate our central database to a brand new infrastructure with more capacity, new software version of the database management system. And we need to make sure that once an application was migrated, it was performing properly without any service interruption. Because of this, we have chosen to do a step by step migration project, keeping the two infrastructures, old and new, aligned with the Quest solution and migrating application one by one. The product was a turnkey solution provided by our partners, Lutech and Telesio, employing Quest Software products, SharPlex and Foglight. The key to the success of the project was the capability of the technology we used to make sure that the old and new databases were kept aligned in real time. And through Foglight, it was possible to monitor performances and make sure that no degradation was occurring in performances immediately after any application migration, allowing for having production system running seamlessly on the old and on the new database and keeping good consistency on the two databases, although the data were basically the same replicated in different data centers.
