The business that we have is called Foundation Radiology Group. We manage over almost 400 endpoints, including servers and workstations. I am the supervisor of the service desk there. I used to be the systems administrator. So I'm responsible for the installation and the management of all those appliances.
The operational issue we were trying to solve for when we were first looking into KACE is workstation and server patching. And we were manually going out and patching all of the workstations and all of the servers individually prior to this, which could take a matter of months if you consider scheduling the reboots and everything with the servers. What the SMA allowed us to do was to schedule those patches and automate the process, so that now it only takes us, you know, a week to patch the servers.
And I can do monthly patches of all of our workstations easily with the schedules that we have created now. KACE helped solved the issues that we were having specifically with the patching in that it allowed us to schedule our patches, automate things, and give us a lot of time back in our days. The benefits after the implementation of the patching schedule allowed us to focus on other projects as well. We were able to implement the service desk of the SMA.
We now do software license compliance through the SMA. And our entire asset inventory is managed through the SMA. So it allowed us to focus on those projects and take tons of time to get back into our schedules. So at first, we were looking at KACE to solve our patching issues. And when we did the demo, we learned that it was more than just a patching tool-- that it also had service desk, asset management, software license compliance, all things that were either being managed by a spreadsheet in our company or weren't tracked at all.
So it really became an all encompassing product for us. Security is obviously very important to us. Working in the health care industry, we have a lot of patient health information. And we employ radiologists in different hospitals. And we have about 35 different hospital clients. So we have workstations out all over the country. We need to know where they are, what they're connected to, what software is installed, and that they're being patched regularly to ensure safety and security.
I love everything about KACE. It has helped us really in so many different areas to get more organized, more compliant. I couldn't be happier. I'm looking for ways to incorporate the SDA now, trying to get more into our company.
