QoreStor: Reducing your cloud storage costs to pennies per gigabyte

Hi. My name's Adrian Moyer. I'm the senior product consultant at Quest Software. Today I'm going to talk to you a little about our new release of Coastal Version 7. One of the main challenges we see today in the world of backup and storage is utilization effectively of cloud storage. Being able to move data into cloud and keep cost effectiveness is becoming more and more of a challenge as our data sets grow. So what we do with Coastal 7 now is to utilize object storage as a back end and duplicating our data sets as they come in to Coastal and then moved out to object storage. This helps to reduce not only your storage footprint but also your costs quite dramatically, sometimes by a factor of 10. So now what we have is not only the ability to scale but also the ability to reduce costs down to one or two per gigabyte which transforms a business's ability to store data where it needs to and enable them to have the data available quickly on demand when they really need it.
